What is the greatest commandment?

In Matthew 22:34-40, we find the story of a lawyer asking Jesus what the greatest commandment of the law was. Jesus answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest. But then Jesus added a second great command: "Love your neighbor as yourself. All the other laws depend on doing those two great laws." In other words, nothing else matters until those two laws are obeyed. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

What if every person; every church member, every preacher, every auto mechanic, every doctor, every teacher, every politician, every athlete, every lawyer, every plumber, every secretary, every billionaire, every homeless person, every law enforcement officer starting obeying these two great commandments?

How would the world be changed?

Tomorrow in our worship service, we will look at this passage and how we might consider our obedience to these great commandments. We will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion in the service as well. Our service begins at 11:00am. Our address is 126 Alabama Avenue in Odenville.
