Non-Perishable Food Drive
Non-Perishable Food Drive
Our church is participating with other local area churches in Odenville in a food drive and other family need items in November. There are families in our area who are affected by the lack of SNAP benefits and they need our help.
Beginning this Sunday, we will be collecting non-perishable food items. These items include canned soups and canned meats like salmon, tuna or chicken. Bags of dried beans. Cans of chili and stews. Canned mixed vegetables like green beans, corn, peas and tomatoes. Boxes of rice. Oatmeal and other dried cereals. Flour, sugar, salt. Macaroni and cheese, instant potatoes, crackers, canned pasta sauce.
Other items may include baby formula, diapers, wipes, dog and cat food, toiletry items of all sort.
You may bring these items to the church until Sunday, November 23. Packing Day will be Monday, November 24. Distribution Day will be Tuesday, November 25 at the OYA Concession Stand located at 1155 Tucker Road in Odenville.
Other ways our church can participate include volunteers needed on Packing Day and Distribution Day. Be a greeter and a warm smile and a friendly face to those in need on Distribution Day. Other volunteer duties include having a Prayer Tent, helping carry bags to cars, directing traffic, and just love on the families in need. Having something warm to drink on Distribution Day for those families who will come will be a welcomed gesture.
We could really use someone or group of persons in our church who can volunteer and coordinate our efforts in this community project for Thanksgiving. Please help if you can.
