Crosswalk Youth continue to meet each Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the new Lighthouse Youth Building. Always a good time of food, fellowship, in-depth Bible Study, and often some fun and games. Service projects are a part of our Youth Ministry.

Family Support Group meets on Tuesday evenings beginning at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall.  This group is led by a certified Crisis Intervention Counselor.  The group meetings address issues such as addiction, therapy for families of addicted persons, grief ministry, and other issues that are addressed in the meetings. The Tuesday meeting days are chosen as participants can gather.  Email the church to get the next meeting time – odenvilleumchurch@gmail.com.  Someone will respond as soon as possible, or you may call Pastor James at 256-589-6536.

Ash Wednesday will be February 18. Our Church will offer two identical services for the imposition of the ashes – 12:05pm and 6:30pm. Both services will be held in the worship Sanctuary.

Lenten Bible Study - Pastor James Haskins will lead a Lenten Bible Study during the season of Lent every Wednesday beginning February 25.  The study will begin promptly at 12:05pm and each session will end promptly at 12:50pm.  This will be a brown-bag lunch where you are welcomed to eat your lunch during the study and have time to get back to work.  The study is called, “The Last Supper – Conversations That Led to the Cross” by Bishop Will Willimon.  This will be a fascinating look at those “riddles’ Jesus told to reveal the Kingdom of Heaven to those who would receive it.  You will have your own study book to keep and read each week.  For more information, you may call Pastor James – 256-589-6536.

During the Season of Lent, we want to focus on being intentional about inviting others to worship with us.  A friend, a neighbor, a relative.  Make a life-changing effort for them and you.

This year Holy Week will be the week of March 30 – April 4.  Each day is significant as Jesus approaches life-altering events that eventually lead him to die on the cross.

Our Church will offer a Maundy Thursday Holy Communion Service on April 3 at 6:30pm to remember the last night of Jesus’ life with the Passover meal and the institution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion.  All are welcome to attend.  The United Methodist Church believes in an open table which means that anyone who attends a Holy Communion Service is sincerely invited and encourage to partake of the elements of the Holy Meal.

The Season of Lent is a time of spiritual reflection and examination of our relationship with Jesus Christ.  As we consider our salvation and discipleship, Lent offers a time of repentance and renewal.  Beginning with our Ash Wednesday Services on February 18, our Lenten Bible Study and our Lenten Worship Service, we will make our way to a great Easter Sunday celebration.  On Easter Sunday, April 5, we want to invite everyone to a church and community-wide gathering at 10:00am of breakfast snacks and fellowship, then gather in our Sanctuary at 11:00am to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.
